Backup & Disaster Recovery in Toronto & the GTA
Most businesses have a backup. Far fewer have a backup they have ever restored from. NEXION sets up backup and recovery that is monitored and actually tested, so a hardware failure or ransomware event becomes an inconvenience rather than an existential problem.
We cover servers, workstations, cloud data and email — and we tell you honestly how long a real recovery would take, before you need to find out.
What's included
Monitored backups
Automated backups with alerting, so a silent failure does not go unnoticed for months.
Restore testing
Periodic test restores, because a backup nobody has restored from is a hope, not a plan.
Ransomware-resistant copies
Retention and isolation so an attack that encrypts your files cannot simply encrypt the backups too.
Cloud & email protection
Microsoft 365 and cloud data backed up separately — the provider hosts it, but recovering it is still your responsibility.
Recovery planning
A documented plan with realistic recovery times, agreed while things are calm.
Recovery support
When something does fail, you have a team who already knows your environment.
Who it's for
- 01Businesses that stop working if a server or shared drive goes down
- 02Companies that have never tested a restore
- 03Organisations with client, contractual or insurer continuity requirements
- 04Anyone who has read a ransomware story and felt uneasy
How it works
Assess
We find what data matters, where it lives and what is currently protected.
Design
You get a backup and recovery design with realistic recovery times.
Implement
We put backups, retention and monitoring in place across the environment.
Test
We run restore tests and keep the plan current as things change.
Frequently asked
Isn't cloud data like Microsoft 365 already backed up?
Not in the way most people assume. Cloud providers protect their own infrastructure, but data you delete, corrupt or have encrypted by ransomware is generally your responsibility to recover. Separate backup of cloud and email is a standard layer — and a commonly missing one.
How often should backups be tested?
Regularly, and whenever the environment changes. An untested backup is unproven; test restores are what turn a backup into an actual recovery capability.
How quickly could we be back up after a failure?
It depends on what fails and what is in place. We define realistic recovery times with you in advance, rather than letting you discover them during an outage.
Which areas do you cover?
We provide backup and disaster recovery across Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough and across the Greater Toronto Area.
